A really weird thing happens to 11 year old Megan Crewe when she bumps into Jack the old carthorse. She’s too busy to worry about it until she realises what a terrible secret she’s uncovered. Jack is in danger but no one will believe it except her best friend Amy. Their ideas come thick and fast, but nothing works, and as the menace creeps closer, events snowball.

Melodie Trudeaux has been around horses all her life. She used to ride competitively and she is a big supporter of young riders. She still rides for pleasure and acts as a judge at local shows and gymkanas. Melodie's other passion is space travel although she has never left the Earth... yet.

I bought this book yesterday and have just spotted it here on your blog. So glad to see you showcasing it. It's a good fast moving read. I loved it even though I'm a bit (a lot) outside the target age range. I'm getting copies for all the small people attached to our family. I knew it would be good because of the comment from ace children's writer Tony Bradman on the cover.
I enjoyed Melodie's book, too, Penny! A bit of whimsy and horse-love creates an engaging read for everyone. A quick read for adults; a thought-provoking good read for the younger crowd.
