There are chapters about how to understand the health of both your brain and your business - two things that are not as different as you might think. It’s all in the mind

His in-depth research and understanding of human brain chemistry have made complex brain phenomenon so easy to understand. He has touched upon all the aspects of human brain functioning that are responsible for Happiness or Opposite State (not-to-use-negative-notion-depression).

“It may seem odd to focus on practical tips on success in business alongside practical tips for maintaining and boosting our brain chemistry and our attitude towards life. But the truth is there is no secret about this. For all the resources you have at your disposal in the business world, from your education to your networks to your technical infrastructure and more, the one indispensable, irreplaceable, and critically valuable resource is your brain. It is the brain’s ideas, focused on Inspiring Images, which are the source of entrepreneurial innovation that drives the formation and expansion of businesses in our high-tech world. It is the brain’s ability to perceive, react, and work with others that allows us to build strong networks of family members, friends, employees, and clients. And it is our ability to understand and boost our brain’s health that enables us to stay focused through the long and difficult hours that most entrepreneurs must put in on the road to success,” he added.

Success journey

An engineer by qualification, Hiten has participated in postgraduate programs at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. He has been invited as a visiting faculty at the IIT-Bombay, Thakur Management Institution, and various other institutions in India.  He is acknowledged as an upright researcher, an industry expert, and a successful author in the field of hospitality technology and business solutions.

He is also the Founder of the CGS Group which offers advanced technology solutions to more than 1200 hotels across the US and over 5,000 micro-businesses in around 40 countries. Established in 1995, CGS Group has partnered the world’s leading tech firms, including Google, Godaddy, IBM, and more.

What’s more, he serves as the National Committee Member for IT for FICCI - India’s Premier Chamber of Commerce and plays a leadership role in Indo-Gulf trade. In May 2012, he spoke at the prestigious Indo-Arab Convention as India’s representative, attended by top-10 Arab nations’ foreign ministers and business leaders.

Outstanding contribution

Remarkably, Hiten is a recipient of the Certificate of Appreciation from the Consulate General of the United States for his contribution to India-US trade and technology transfer.

He is a star performer and achiever in every field of his life, on asking about what fuels his success, he replied, “Goals are the brain's oxygen. A brain without any goals will not only spend its energy searching for threats and making you anxious and unfocused but will also start withering away. Without real challenges to cope with, your brain will start to lose its sharpness, agility & responsiveness. It’s just like what happens to your body when you don’t exercise and don’t take care of yourself. A goal-less brain will become dull, hazy, lifeless, and mechanical.”

Giving back

Hiten is also the founder & mentor of the Sakar Trust, which has positively impacted almost one-lakh people through various initiatives, programs, and donations to NGOs for girl child education, healthcare, and mid-day meals. The trust has also facilitated 12 entertainment programs for senior citizens. On a concluding note, he added, “Remember to focus on the positive, increase your energy and aliveness, and leave the world a better place than you found it.”

This book is extremely engaging and is easy read. The neuroscience related information that the book presents at its last section is extremely helpful.
