It's that time of year: the Alonzo Weed Festival in Amesville's Gifford Park, Saturday, August 17th. Festivities start at 5:00 with songs by Piper, then at 5:30 p.m. with Megan Bee, followed by the Ames-Bern Ridge Rounders. There will be food, Jackie O's beer, a flower bouquet bar, local arts, and more. Thanks to Jackie O's and Appalachian Renewable Power for supporting this year's event.
Local author Kathy S. Elasky will be signing copies of her new children’s book Pudgy Possum and the Mysterious Visitor! The book is the third in a series
about Pudgy Possum, a forest-dweller who takes readers through engaging
adventures. In addition, Elasky has two companion books to the series, Pudgy
Possum’s Coloring, Puzzles, and Fun Book and My Journal: Nature Notes
& Drawings.
