Love and Lilies: It Ends With US
A new movie titled It Ends With Us, is a new film based off the book by Colleen Hoover. The film along with the book portrays a girl named Lily and her experience with domestic violence. It’s a strong and important message that needs to be shared.
Looking at the movie from a cinematic point of view, it was a decent movie. I feel that the actors could have shown some more emotion, they had deadpan expressions throughout most of the film. There were also a lot of time jumps that made it confusing to watch at times.
As for the deeper meaning of the film, I think they did an amazing job. Lily was in a very toxic and abusive relationship but she didn’t realize it a first. They accurately showed the subtle ways that a person can abuse their partner without making it obvious to them. The movie showed the hard decisions and emotional stress that comes with an abusive relationship. The ending was also magnificent, it showed that it takes strength for a person in that scenario to leave and that it’s not their fault if they do decide to leave.
In my opinion it was a good movie with a great message behind it. I watched it at Movies Ten in Nelsonville. Their prices are cheap but the quality is great. The cool and spacious theaters make for an amazing experience!
