Milliron Monday: The Journals April - June 1969

Abbott "Pete" Smith D.V.M.:  June 16, 1938 - February 22, 2010
Virginia Joyann "Jody" Haley Smith: April 2, 1938 - May 9, 2021

Welcome to Milliron Monday where every Monday we celebrate the legacy of Milliron Farm and Clinic, Dr. Pete and Jody Smith.

Step back in time and peruse the annals of Jody’s Journals. For those who have journeyed through the Milliron chronicles and blog entries, the names and locales will undoubtedly resonate with familiarity. In the year of 1969, shopping centers, eateries, and various establishments have come and gone, leaving their ephemeral marks. Athens County and the broader expanse of southeastern Ohio continue their inexorable evolution, even to this day.

Herein lies a summary for this entry: In Mansfield, Ohio, Gary, Jody’s brother, practices dentistry and is wed to Aggie; Gary also served as the Smith family’s dentist. Jessie, the matriarch, is Jody’s grandmother. The initials J and P denote Jessica and Pat, respectively. Pets are typically bestowed with singular monikers. Noteworthy highlights from this quarter include: turtle soup, a new bull, and the arrival of new ponies.
