The Tree of Life by Julie Dascoli

The Tree of Life

          The tree,
          Majestic and ancient.
          Symbolizing life itself.
Roots stretching, deep into mother earth, extracting nourishment.
Branches, reaching tall into the sky, absorbing air, water and sun.
          But more than that…
          A home for so many.
          Inside the ground,
          Micro beasts.
          Tunnels and burrows.
Moving between underground and the trunk,
Some never seeing the light of day.
The swaying branches and leaves home to furry creatures.
Some cuddly, some not so much.
          So, there it stands,
          Tall and proud.
          The tree of life.
