The Benefits of Spring Cleaning
It’s that time of year again. The
flowers begin blooming, and we say goodbye to the snow. While some may say the
tradition of spring cleaning is pointless, it does have some benefits.
Spring cleaning can be linked to
spirituality. I use it to remove any negativity and gloominess that may have
been brought in during the winter. I am highly spiritual and believe that
cleaning can remove negative energy and bring positivity into the household.
However, if you don’t believe in that, there are other benefits to spring
cleaning.
It is common for people to feel down or
unmotivated in the winter. With the cold weather and the gloomy atmosphere,
people would love to cuddle up with a mug of hot chocolate and watch a movie.
You may not feel as motivated to deep clean during the winter which makes the
beginning of spring the perfect time. The sun is coming out and the weather is
warming up. Soon there will be flowers everywhere that give the world a pop of
color. The atmosphere may bring some extra motivation to you to be productive and
knowing your space is clean may bring you some joy, it sure does for me.
Spring is also a common time for
allergies to flare up. Pollen is falling from the trees and flowers and many
people are allergic to common spring plants. Freeing your home of dust and
pollen will make your allergies a little better. Your home can become a safe
space from all the allergens found outside.
I typically start my spring cleaning
around early March. It can honestly be fun to pop some headphones on, play your
favorite songs, and get to cleaning. It’s not for everyone but if you’re
intrigued you should try it!
