About the Author

e.t. rose is a first-time author and life-long writer. As a writer, she has embodied many forms and identities throughout her life. Each form born out of a particular need, with a particular voice and point of creative interest. e.t. rose is the latest. Born in the Lower East Side, NYC, into a large, traditional Dominican family in the 1970’s, brimming with hard-working, entrepreneurial, progressive thinkers and comedic geniuses, she developed her Sci-Fi mind, funny bone, and inclination for creative writing at a young age. What began as a therapeutic expression of self in her teenage years, a time when some of us spill our guts onto the non-judgemental pages of our journals, soon transformed into a poetic creative force within her, used to expose societal ills and injustices, as well as, entertain romantic impulses, personal longing, and malaise within the corporate world. Spoken Word followed suit, as it tends to do when poetry is in full bloom, and e.t. rose hungrily toured the NYC and Jersey City Open Mic circuit, performing her poetry, singing little diddy’s, and laughing her ass off. When the grim reaper came in the form of breast cancer, she was blindsided. e.t. rose fell, got up, fell again, laughed in death’s face, got slapped, broke her arms, couldn’t write, funny bone severed, third time bed-ridden, a charm with no “c”. When her heart finally broke, she chose solitude, began talking to herself and laughing hysterically at her own jokes. Face to face with the concern and fear in her loved ones eyes, e.t. rose went head-to-head with death again, but this time with the understanding that she is a host for God, and thereby a cancer eliminator and circumstance manifestor. Then finally, e.t. rose for good and finished writing and published Bedtime Story Poems for Big People: Volume One. She resides with her Autistic son in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she continues her advocacy for special needs children and working on Bedtime Story Poems for Big People: Volume Two.
