Welcome to
Milliron Monday where every Monday we celebrate the legacy of Pete Smith,
D.V.M., and Milliron: Abbott “Pete”
Smith, D.V.M. The Biography (Monday Creek Publishing 2017). A graduate of
Colorado State University and a well-known veterinarian in southeast Ohio, Dr.
Smith continues to motivate and inspire.
What does a surgeon think of when he has an award-winning filly on the operating table? I think it was just another day at work for Dr. Smith; however, I suspect he was up for the challenge to fix a filly's stifle.
Toy Poodle,
a two-time World Champion Pacer, was brought to Dr. Smith for stifle repair.
Dr. Smith, known as Dr. Stifle throughout the Midwest, gave Toy Poodle just
what she needed to continue her winning career. An amazing tribute to a dedicated
country veterinarian.
Thanks for the Memories! Jim Michael, Toy Poodle's owner, expressed his thanks in November 5, 1980. "Dr. A. P. Smith, Athens, Ohio, who corrected stifle soreness that sidelined her at two."
