A graduate of Colorado State University and a well-known veterinarian in southeast Ohio, Dr. Smith continues to motivate and inspire.
There is a treasure trove of journals, poetry, letters, photos, and notes upon notes in the nooks and crannies of the Smith home. This one, handwritten by Dr. Smith, lists the reasons to swear off coffee. In fact, it is a promise to avoid caffeine altogether...
Whereas coffee:
1/ makes my stomach hurt
a/ raises stomach temp 10 degrees
b/ raises H* 500%
c/ is very acidic
2/ makes me cough
a/ irritates hiatal hernia
(1) heartburn
3/ is addictive : inconvenient
4/ causes mood swings
a/ hypoglycemia
b/ artificial stimulant
c/ increases blood pressure
5/ potent diuretic (incontinence)
6/ causes appetite stimulation & ruins fasts & diets
7/ interferes with surgical skill
a/ hands tremble
b/ patience
8/ vague anxiety & paranoia
9/ requires antacids which harms immunity, digestion, health
10/ interferes with sleep & therefore alertness the next day
11/ nullifies homeopathic remedies
12/ depletes liver glycogen
13/ triggers malignant hyperthermia in some individuals
I hereby resolve & do swear by God to eliminate coffee, caffeine containing soft drinks, and real tea from my personal life total once and for all.

Keep my weight between 175 & 185
