Jody's Journals: 1986

November
  • rode Speed, put up more signs, Colonel, Streak tracked turkeys, checked well > John Light's memorial service McDougal Church > to clinic, paid bills > listened to Prairie Home Companion
  • went down after paper with dogs, to church, festival Eucharist/All Saints Day > Lam's Garden > to Pam's open house ceremonies; evensong > with Pete to movies
  • lamb caught in feeder > to church, Rev. Dorsey Blake, African delegation, ate at Farley's > to clinic, Shingler tried out "Barney" 8 yr br bay, singlefooter; Pete vac, dewormed, etc., fed at barn, headlights/lanterns
  • made 2 oatmeal cakes, turned Barney out > voted > evensong, parish dinner > read
  • up at 3 am > sorted table/desk > rode Barney, snaffle Pelham very good, put up a few signs, took Colonel, Streak, saw several deer > to clinic > Marshall here for supper, went down to clinic to see Brad Harter's Canadian Trooper Saddle
  • to barn, took Barney's temp 104, Pete on calls
  • up at 3:30 am, took Barney down for treatment (in by oxen), put Speed, Barney in upper barn > to clinic, paid some bills > turned Speed out, put Junie in, fed at barn
  • rain, Pete on calls > to clinic, Jerry Hartley there > Bando/Kickboxing tourney
  • took Colonel, Ruff after paper > to church, ate at Lam's Garden > rode Junie, Pete rode Apple < came back and watched saddle horse championships on channel 20
  • put sheep down, wormed, Allan helped > picked mint, checked spring, took Puff, Colonel brought horses in, unwaterlogged well pump; put in storm doors, windows, napped > Pete got milk, read
  • to barn, turned Barney, Junie out > to clinic, met Jessica/lunch > paid bills, ran errands
  • Puff had stroke, treated/clinic, brought Puff up to barn, 2nd stroke, unable to stand, 9:30 euth. > we left for logging seminar Frostburg, Maryland
  • Pete seminar, I drove back to motel, stopped at Iron Furnace, 2 Episcopal Churches, shopped, got barn boots, etc., dinner w loggers
  • watched part of competition, read books, drove home on 50, pretty scenery, ate in Parkersburg, very crowded, home, fell asleep at table but watched most of CS Lewis' Shadowlands on TV
  • took Colonel down for paper, jumped on Red; to church reception for Father Bishop, ate at OU Inn > to clinic > Pete canoe, checked for fish > rode Junie, cut parts of tree on Marquis ridge above Wagner's, Pete put up a few signs > coonhunters on ridge, in sheep pasture, almost shot Ruff
  • rode Speed, put up some signs on Marquis ridge, checked well > R G ditching in gasoline > to clinic, paid some bills > OU play, Sherlock Holmes, hot chocolate, cookies; got milk
  • to clinic, took Pat's truck to Pam Collier's, helped her move some things to her new house, couldn't get truck started, Pat brought Olds in, took truck, Pete on calls
  • to church, lunch, Lam's Garden> read paper > rode Speed, walked down slippery hill > watched Benny Hill
  • to clinic, met Amish at bus stop, took some to McDonald's, took rest home (5) 
  • to clinic > caught office phone during surgery > watch movie
  • court hearing, deer hunting case
  • to barn; Pete gate, Dutch Creek, timber buyer > to church > to Mansfield, called Ann Katen
  • sorted sweet potatoes > to barn, rode Barney, saw huge owl, took Colonel, Streak
  • to church, ate at OU Inn > rode Barney, found fawn in field on well road near Dutch Creek, hid it, went back after it with Pete
